Funky Vanilla is a quick project that I did for Christmas gifts in 2023. We bottled the vanilla in August ‘23 and handed them out for my husband and I’s family since we all love to bake. Our last name is “Funk” so I thought the name “Funky Vanilla” would be a fun touch. I wanted to create with texture so made the hand drawn type in procreate, watercolor labels on paper and scanned them in, and overlayed fun poppy colors so they were all cohesive. To elevate the design from child-like to relevant, I added a sleek serif font that pairs well the curvy type of the main text as seen in the grids on the label.
